After having spent the month of May in Seattle, with all of Spring in full bloom and far-off Mount Rainier sparkling in the warming sun, I was reminded of the scenery found within Japanese woodblock prints. A concept came to mind, to mimic this style of art and the philosophical undertones that are present within it. For me, woodblock prints always seemed complex, yet simple in their creation, fleeting moments carved in time. But they leave the viewer with a calming scene of nature or the intersecting civilized and natural world.
